Eastpak, from army gear to leading brand for backpacks, bags and trolleys
Eastpak has its origins in making bags and backpacks for the US Army in the early 50s of the last century. Characteristic was the simple design, the robust material and the durability, on which Eastpak offers a 30 year warranty. Later, Eastpak was picked up by students who started using army gear to carry their books on campus. In the 1980s, Eastpak was one of the first to add bright colors and prints to their canvas bags. Collaboration with creative artists and fashion royalties like Jean Paul Gaultier ensured that Eastpak grew to a leading brand for backpacks, bags and trolleys.
